How can we help?
We are a small team and we read everything. Email is the fastest way to reach us and we aim to reply within two working days. Most of what people write in about is answered below.
Include the registration you searched, and the email address you paid with if it is about a purchase. That is usually enough for us to answer in one reply instead of three.
Answers
- I paid, and now I cannot get back to my report
-
Sign in with the same email address you used at checkout and your report is under your vehicles. If you never set a password, ask for a sign-in code instead and we will email you a six-digit code.
- The registration was not found
-
Nothing is charged. Check the registration against the V5C or the plate itself, including the spacing. Very new vehicles, and some imports and personal plates, can be missing from the official record. If it looks right and still fails, send it to us and we will look at it directly.
- What does it cost?
-
Looking up a registration is free: no account, no card, and it is not a trial that runs out. The Decision Report is £29.99 including VAT, paid once, for one vehicle. It is not a subscription, nothing renews, and there are no credits to buy.
- Can I get a refund?
-
A report is produced immediately from data we are charged for, so at checkout you confirm you want it straight away and give up the usual 14-day right to change your mind. We will still refund you in full if the report fails to generate, never reaches you, or is materially wrong about your vehicle. Email us the registration.
- Something in the report is wrong about my car
-
Tell us the registration and what is wrong. If the report is materially wrong about your vehicle we refund it in full. Note that MOT, tax and technical details are reproduced from the DVSA and DVLA record as it stands: where their record is wrong we can show you what it says, but we cannot correct it at source.
- Is my card safe?
-
Payments on the website are taken through Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe directly and we never receive or store them. We keep only a record that a purchase happened, so we can re-open the report you paid for. The price at checkout is the total, inclusive of VAT.
- Delete my account and my data
-
You can request deletion at any time from Account settings. Saved lookups expire on their own after 180 days, and inspection photos taken in the browser are deleted with the report they belong to.
Questions about what the report contains, where the data comes from, or whether you need to install anything are answered on the home page.
